Feeling stuck? Here’s how to stop procrastinating when you don’t know where to start. Hi, I’m Dr. Tom McDonagh, and I’m going to help you with your procrastination problem.
First key tip is try to start small. Pick one tiny step and don’t focus on the rest of the task. Just focus on one small step at a time.
Another tip is to use the five minute rule. Just commit to a short period of time and develop momentum from there.
Another tip is to break it down. We divide big tasks into bite sized pieces. We don’t think about the whole thing at once.
Another tip is to lower the bar. We want to focus on progress, not perfection. So moving forward is the goal.
Also, you can try to change your environment. Try to remove distractions and set up a workplace that actually helps you focus.
Another tip is to use some type of accountability. So telling a friend or other person who is really going to be useful at keeping you on task or checking in with you to make sure that you’re completing the task.
