Born in NY and raised in the Midwest, I have enjoyed using my profession as an excuse to move around the country. I moved to California in 2011 as a postdoctoral fellow with Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa. Prior to moving west I was an undergrad at Manhattan College in Bronx, NY, attended graduate school at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and completed my pre-doctoral internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. In 2017 I co-authored a book, 101 Ways to Conquer Teen Anxiety, published by Ulysses Press. In my free time I like taking advantage of all Northern California has to offer, including skiing, swimming, and live music.

Having grown up in the SF Bay Area and earning my BA from Stanford, I moved to Boston for graduate school and practiced psychotherapy for over 25 years before moving back to San Francisco. As a clinical psychologist, I have extensive experience providing caring and compassionate therapy services to college students, adults, and couples.
I help people manage emotional distress (such as anxiety and depression), increase interpersonal effectiveness, and negotiate major life transitions such as separations, loss, and other challenges.
My style is collaborative and I use an integrated approach, combining interpersonal therapy with cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness techniques.
I also use EMDR techniques when indicated to help alleviate distressing memories.

I was born and raised in Shanghai, China and immigrated to the US 20+ years ago. San Francisco is my second home and I am so happy to be a psychologist in this city. I obtained my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley. I completed my predoctoral training at Trauma Recovery Center of the Department of Psychiatry at University of California San Francisco. I then finished my postdoctoral fellowship at National Asian-American Psychological Training Center. I specialize in treating people with anxiety, trauma, relationship/personality issues, grief, and cross-cultural issues.
